these were snapped with his brand new digital camera at a local show
Nice 50 4 door sittin low on steels and whites..
Kool Kustom Chev.
Nice Caddy air cleaner on this 32 3W coupe. Lars' A roadster parked alongside, and his latest toy, the 56 chev scooter in front of the A.
Edsel wagon, a cool hauler. Radical rear lights disguise somewhat the Ford origins of the rear quarter sheetmetal.
Rorty A roadster with rusty grill shell and cool boat style windscreen.
This 32 truck sports a super low stance due to air suspension. Pic sent by Ian from Lilow, Australia.
This is Don's 35 truck. Pics posted by 32Tom on the flathead forum. Truck is fresh out, and features a flathead motor and a very nicely done paint job.
Here's Guenter larking about in his recently acquired Model A truck project. He's got a selection of 33 and 46 running gear to mix 'n'match for that nice old timey look.
Sent out recently by Carps, here's his own thoughts on the pic: I found a bunch of pictures I never took much notice of before. Remember shooting the roll at the last general meeting of DLRA (Dry Lakes Racers of Australia) before this years Lake Gairdner Speed Trials. This event was just a bunch of guys on a Sunday arvo so there was no rod run or anything special happenin. However there was an opportunity for competition cars to be pre scrutineered to make sure all was right and avoid dissapointment after the long tow to the lake. What makes this shot special is that it wasn't posed and as I recall I almost didn't shoot it at all since I was just walkin past on the way to catch up with a few other guys. But someting said "do it." And I'm glad I did. I think it's a great shot that says a lot about how hot rodding trancends the generation gap. The older guy is Alan Murchison and that's his race car on the trailer. It's something he's always wanted to build and this years event was it's maiden outing. The young guy, I dunno his name, runs what's often reffered to as a rat rod. Primered A roadster built the old fashioned way with lotsa old parts, not too much decoration and definitely no shiney paint. The old breed and the new breed. Like I said, the pic wasn't posed. These two obviously at least a couple of generations apart, were just sittin there havin a yak probably about nuthin in particular. Not too many of life's activities where this happens anymore. Usually quite the opposite. We should cherish what we have here. Life's too short. Carps
Here's a red wheeled 40 Standard coupe. Body looks very well finished. (Doh! lost the name of the contributer, if you recognise this shot, let me know)
Ever seen a 32 hupmobile? You have now. This updated version belongs to Mike Genthe. It runs a .030 over 327, turbo 350 trans, and Nova 10 bolt rear end. The body is all steel and still sports the wood structure and body I.D. tag Nice one, Mike, something a bit unusual.
Here's Chris from Germany, just letting us know how hard he's working on his model A project.
Here's a pic of Spooky's new aquisition, nuzzled in behind the ol' Sledsel. He scored the 49 for $0.00 pretty good going. I dont know but I quite like that too-high gasser stance.
Nate (who revealed his age as just 16) sent this shot of his Poncho. He sez it sucks, but I think it's cool. He's lookin out for a 421 to shoehorn in under that hood. (Nate! listen carefully! LOSE THE WHITE LETTERS!..Mart Been having a dialogue with Peter O'Connell from Australia. He saw Old Rusty and sent me some pics of his finds. There's some great stuff out there.
This one's a photo of a photo. Wouldn't we all like to stumble across this little Gem.
Sent in by Henrik Fromell from Sweden, Henrik was driving his dads '39. I remember the semi-illegal street racing from when I visited in '82. Oh yeah, Henrik sez he won.
---oooOOOooo--- Thanks to all the contributers for the pics on this page...Mart. |
