I thought I would help out with some pictures of my latest money pit . I traded my 54 ford for it , and it is coming along pretty well . I am adding a ford 302 motor soon with an automatic trans , and will be painting it and getting the chrome and door glass done up , whenever money and time allow .It is my daily driver so the work must get done as I have time to do it . (It has to stay on the road when I work on it .) I think I might actually finish this one !
Thanks Mike, Thats a mean lookin more door fer sure. How 'bout gettin a few more Sacred Kart's cars on these pages. (Damn! I can never stop toutin' for pics!) Rick Pecoraro sent these pics saying it's an Art Johnson car. It's now alive and well and residing with Rick in Edgwater Florida.
This 29 has 32 rails, 50 full race flattie, 56 ford steering 46 brakes, 600 or so louvers, 50 merc wheels, etc. etc. dont know when it was built but its been around for awhile.
Rick sez, he's not too keen on shows, but the first one he took the car to he copped best in show. I can see why. Cheers Rick. My mate Geoff from round the corner found these excellent shots (big B&W prints) under the seat of a 66 Galaxie he bought a few years ago. Havn't a clue as to the history of the cars but they show these cars in a typical English setting.
'40 Standard. Note neat orange turn lamp installation. Car is Right hand drive, probably built in Canada. Four door sedans the most popular body style over here. (dammit)
Ok, 51 Ford four door. Nice English setting. Cant make out the name of the pub. Wing mirrors popular over here. LYT is a London registration, I believe. Garage seems to be harbouring another piece of Yankee iron on the forecourt. (Thanks to Jim Marlett for identifying the year on this baby)
Here's a real bitsa. I'm going out on a limb here, but I'd hazard a guess this is a spruced up ex-military vehicle. Pictured at the same location as the 40. Tyres look like military sand spec (enormous). RHD again. Rear wings dont look too happy. Had a note from Larry Cupit in West Virginia, claiming this A-Bone as his. Sorry I lost the original note Larry. It's in primer for now while he shakes the bugs out of it, but really he still can't decide what color to paint the car. It started out as an antique Shay replica. Just goes to show what a little fiberglass, 2 years of work, and a lot of patience can accomplish.
Hey, it's Carpy again. Ex pat brit Steve Carpenter has moved from Orstraylia to California, and dropped onto this Ford truck soon enuff. It's a great daily driver. Steve sez his English accent is irresistable to all the birds. Wonder if my Brummie accent will do the same?
This is Hoving from Holland. His 50 fastback will be getting a 318 and dropped spindles. Not too keen on Dodge's attempt at two toning for '50.
Henrik sent me a note from Sweden and told me to stop messing about with my A, just build it. Here's what is lurking in his garage, a lil' ol' 29A on '32 rails. Light weight roadster will be pretty nippy with a stroker Chev motor up front, a four speed box and a 57 rear end. Had a note from Harri in Finland. he sent a picture of his under construction A on 32 rails.
Harri also sent this remarkable pic showing a Finnish road racing Hot Rod from the 50's. All credit to the Iltalehti newspaper for printing it in the first place.
You heard of Red's Headers? this is Reds T bucket. Super light and flathead powered. Wonder if Red wants to ship it over for this years Flathead Meltdown. Dont think it'd manage the cruise to Burger King though. Note the use of suitable push/tow vehicle. A not to be overlooked detail. Very important.
Garage scene courtesy of Rolf Eriksen, from Norway. Muzzy done, Coupe coming along Nicely.
Steve Edwards sent this pic of his T Bucket. Close inspection reveals it is sitting on a frame I built a few years ago. I built a T with take Alfa running gear, but never finished it and sold the parts off separately. The guy that bought the frame, (complete with E93A Pop front suspension) fitted his own body, a V6 engine and (I think) a Zephyr axle to make up this nippy little Combo. ---oooOOOooo--- Thanks to all the contributers for the pics on this page...Mart. |
