Part 1. Well, it rolled round again, time to drag the coupe out and thrash the knackers off it. Yes it's the Nostalgia nationals, featuring the first Flathead Meltdown of the season. The weather wasn't brilliant, but you learn to make the best of it. Got some cool pics you'd like to share? mail me. |

Snapped by Koops here's my Koop, following one of the rain showers that dogged the event.
Megaphone headers are a new addition. Are VERY LOUD!!. I also swapped the 65 year old distributor for a 50 year old one and it runs real sweet now. I put little baffles into the headers for street use. Dont know if they'll be too loud for the annual test.
The fire up lane offers a great vantage point for viewing the other cars running. Tony Cardy's 27T running faster every time out. No fluke, it's a tribute to Tony's hard work and fine fettling.
Dont know this guy's name, but that cool 49 business coupe looks a treat, lowered and squirted in black. Was only bought relatively recently, looked ungainly before, in red primer and a sky high stance. Runs all stock flathead running gear.
Dave Wilcox with his extra nice deuce hi-boy. Car ran strong, but fitting highway gears in the rearend kept times in the high teens. Daves happy with it's on the road behaviour though.
Rich Selway lookin pleased as punch with his Model A Coupe. Was Purchased from the LA Roadsters swap meet. I'm trying to "borrow" those wires for my roadster, but Rich hasn't got back to me yet, cant think why.
I think this belongs to Dave Eady, really nice altered wheelbase Mopar. Radical.
Deuce roadster powered by a 3 carb 21 stud flatty. This car and the stock 100E behind were plagued with flat battery problems, were forever jump starting each other.
One of my faves, this deuce runs left hand drive, so was able to use a set of econo flathead headers straight out of the box. Note the use of the pudding basin crash helmet. Very important, I've been scouring the car boot sales trying to find one.
This is GLEN is his 27T (I've been calling him Craig for the last 2 years, whoops!) Engine appears to have sprouted 3 extra studs per side. Runs strong 16second quarters.
Sorry 'bout the fuzzy shot, Rich's A setting off on a searing high 20's run. This shot taken as I was supposed to be getting ready to run behind him.
Chris Palmers nicely detailed 32 caught Koops' eye. runs 12V alternator and a Pilot Rad.
