Hot Rods come to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
One of the UK's premier old car do's, the Festival of speed, held each year at Lord March's pad, Goodwood House. This was my first time there, the spur to go being the revelation that this year a selection of primo hot rods had been invited, not to mention the fantastic array of desirable exotic machinery normally associated with this event.
The show was truly awesome, exuding an overwhelming aura of quality and $$MONEY$$.

Dodgy French Aero-Car. Didn't catch on.
Got some cool pics you'd like to share?  mail me.

The Dick Flint roadster. Yummy.

Just about to get thrashed up the hill. Limey organisers threw a spanner in the works for the Yankee contingent by ensuring the track had lots of sharp corners!

The Ray Brown roadster. Absolutely flawless in every detail.
Truly timeless as this style is as popular now as it was then.

The hotrods did great standing/rolling tyre squealing chirpies on the way up to the start line, much to the delight of the crowd.

On static display only, the So Cal bellytank. Note assorted exotica in background.

Well known car with the cheeky nose.
Good thing about Goodwood is that you can get up close and personal with the cars.
Old hotrods are a very tactile thing.

Never noticed that ground effect type ductwork on the back of the Pierson Bros coupe.

Just to prove this car gets driven, Just about to assault the drive (including those CURVES!)

The Barney Navarro roadster. sporting an impressively blown engine.

The blower adaptor seems to double as the fuel distribution block for the 4 carbs.

Old Yaller. Not too sure about the dodgy whitewalls.
As I'm writing this I just remembered how that Nailhead sounded..AWESUM!!

Dan Gurney, Carrol Shelby, Bob Bondurant Max Balchowsky. How much provenance do you want?

Bruce Glascock in the Ak Miller "El Caballo Hiero" Ak drove this car in the mexican road races in 53 and 54. Car was showing slight damage following an excursion into the hay bales.

Ak himself, Chillin'.

Later Olds motor sports early rocker covers for that nostalgic look. Runs two late Holley 2 barrels.

At speed. I know it's blurry, but I'm amazed this shot came out at all.
